Sint-Laureins is a picturesque municipality in the Belgian province of East Flanders, located in the green and peaceful Meetjesland region, near the Dutch border. The municipality is characterized by expansive agricultural landscapes featuring polders, creeks, and waterways, crisscrossed by the historic Leopold Canal, which was dug in 1850. With approximately 7,000 residents, Sint-Laureins exudes a warm and welcoming village atmosphere.

Thanks to its central location, you can reach popular seaside and shopping towns like Knokke and Bruges within 30 minutes, and bustling Ghent within 45 minutes. For a day of shopping across the border, nearby Sluis in the Netherlands is an ideal destination. Plus, the village center is within walking distance of Rommelsweg, where you can enjoy a local bakery or a cozy café.

Architecture

The modernist school building, constructed in 1962, was a familiar sight in the region. Its brown-gray facade and the trees lining the street were iconic. That same facade brick, combined with new concrete strips, will be incorporated into the new buildings to be constructed.

At Edward Poppe Woonpark in Sint-Laureins, comfort and quality of life are key. The 14 houses and 14 apartments are designed to create a warm and inviting atmosphere, with a strong focus on light, space, and functionality. The homes are being built around a new park and are available in two types: a home with an indoor garage and four bedrooms, and a home with a separate parking space, bicycle storage, three bedrooms, and an office.
