At Altro, appraisals are completely free and non-binding. Whether you choose our quick online valuation tool or a detailed professional in-home appraisal by one of our experts, we won’t charge you a fee.
What does a professional in-home appraisal involve?
An Altro expert will visit your home to conduct a thorough inspection. We’ll look not only at the property’s square footage, but also at the quality of the finishes, the condition of the utilities (such as heating and insulation), the location, and current market conditions in your area. Afterward, you’ll receive a realistic appraisal report.
What is the difference between an online valuation and an on-site appraisal?
The online value estimator provides you with an immediate estimate in just a few minutes, based on algorithms and recent sales in the area. However, an on-site estimate by an Altro expert is more accurate, as we also take into account unique selling points or specific areas for improvement that a computer cannot identify.
Why is an accurate valuation so important?
Setting the price too high will scare off potential buyers, causing your home to stay on the market too long and lose its appeal. Setting the price too low means you’re leaving money on the table. Altro aims for the “sweet spot”: a market-competitive price that ensures maximum proceeds within a reasonable timeframe.
Is an appraisal report from Altro binding?
Our estimate is intended to provide you with realistic guidance on selling your home. Although the report is highly accurate and based on professional expertise, it is not an officially certified report for use with, for example, a bank (when applying for a loan) or the tax authorities (in the case of an inheritance), unless specifically requested.
Am I required to sell through Altro after receiving a free estimate?
